An ‘irresistible trickster’ to meet viewers in ‘My Girl’
Another “sassy” girl is to meet TV audiences every Wednesday and Thursday nights beginning this week, as director Jun Ki-sang unfolds his jovial imagination in a new SBS drama “My Girl.” As a “professional” trickster, this new heroine is promised to be cheekier and sassier than the last.
Through the KBS drama “Sassy Girl Chun-hyang,” which ended with overwhelming success in March, director Jun has already proven his talent in producing romantic comedies with a “different” type of heroine.
Director Jun’s motto is to produce a drama that he himself can “laugh his head off” while watching.
“It’s not like I have an exceptional philosophy about drama-making. I just want people to have a good laugh, and realize in between the laughs that life is actually quite joyful,” Jun told reporters in a news conference last week.
In the previous drama, Jun recreated the loyal woman Seong Chun-hyang from a well-known Korean classic “Chung-hyang jeon (Chun-hyang’s story), into a headstrong sassy girl, receiving an enthusiastic response from females in their teens and early 20s. This time, the heroine Ju Yu-rin, played by actress Lee Da-hae, is a cheeky con-artist who learns from her troublesome father that ripping people off is the easiest way to make a living.
But meaning no harm by her “little” lies, Yu-rin is an irresistible character who never loses the sense of humor and optimism despite the bitterness of life.
“It seems that all female characters are standardized in TV dramas, and thus, I try to create a new character that viewers have never come across before,” said Jun.
As the story unfolds, the lovable con-girl will meet Seol Gong-chan (Lee Dong-wook), a cool-headed businessman who asks her to act as his long-lost sister in order to fulfill his grandfather’s last wishes. And Yu-rin slowly finds herself falling for this irritable and annoying man.
Director Jun’s talent in romantic comedies has also been recognized overseas.
“Sassy Girl Chun-hyang” became the first drama to sell the remake copyright abroad. Buying the copyright to remake the drama in its own language, China also offered Jun the opportunity to direct the new version.
Aiming for fame throughout Asia, Jun has a solid view toward the current Korean Wave led by the popularity of Korean TV dramas.
“The Korean Wave is an opportunity for us to spread our culture throughout the world, which is actually far more important than selling 1 million cars,” Jun said. “But it concerns me that Korea is causing anti-Korea sentiments in the neighboring countries by approaching the phenomenon too commercially.”
Jun added that it is a must for Korea to map out solid policies to keep up the wave.
“We are actually getting paid to promote our culture, how good a chance is that? But if we are not careful, the wave will end up as a temporary phenomenon,” he said.
Jun also made remarks on the current trend of more dramas being produced under the planning of producing companies. Unlike the past production systems, in which a drama was produced under the influence of three major broadcasters - MBC, KBS and SBS - more dramas are now produced by production companies.
With many companies investing large amounts of money in these production companies, more time and budget is spared for the drama-makers, allowing them to improve the drama’s quality to a great extent.
Currently, about 60 percent of dramas are made this way, and “My Girl” is also produced by a major producing company Kallista.
Some experts warn of unexpected risks the new method may cause if the new phenomenon is dominated by only the largest production companies, ruining the diversity of the drama-making market.
But director Jun said that despite the shortcomings, it was a must for more Korean dramas to be made in the new method.
“Due to the tight budget and shooting-schedules, the quality of Korean dramas has not been improving,” he said. “It is only a matter of course that more dramas should be produced under better circumstances.”
Jun is also known for the ability to find new faces with potential, helping them become known to TV fans through his dramas.
“Yonsama” Bae Yong-joon, who made his debut through Jun’s 1994 campus romance series “Greetings of Love,” is just one example of talent found by Jun.
“Under the current situation, it is difficult and also wrong to cast only the most popular actors and actresses. I feel some sort of a responsibility to find new faces who will later lead the Korean TV screens, and hope that ‘My Girl’ will become another opportunity,” said Jun.
‘Eric’s girl’ Park Si-yeon makes a leap to acting
As the sweetheart of heartthrob actor Moon Jung-hyuk - better known as pop group Shinhwa’s handsome rapper Eric - actress Park Si-yeon is widely dubbed “Eric’s girl.” But the 26-year-old actress now vows to be recognized on her own merits, taking her first leap into acting.
Immediately after Eric’s love story was disclosed to the public earlier this year, Park has been at the center of attention. Her glamor and beauty had people taking more interest, but Park said that such fame had caused her great discomfort.
“Behind the full make-up and costume, I am actually a very shy person. I don’t enjoy being at the center of attention, especially if it’s attention earned from being someone’s girlfriend,” said Park at last week’s news conference for the SBS new drama “My Girl.”
Through this new drama which will be aired beginning tomorrow, Park will make her first appearance in a TV drama here, and be given the chance to prove her acting skills to viewers. “Love and career are two separate things. I feel bad about the fact that people do not see me as an actress but only as the girlfriend of a popular celebrity,” she said. “But I have realized that getting all worked up over the current situation won’t solve any problems, and thus, have been focusing only on developing my acting skills.”
With hidden dreams toward acting, Park chose to major in journalism at Long Island University in 1998, thinking that it would help her in learning the TV world better. Striving to an start acting career, Park took auditions for Chinese TV series while attending college, and appeared in three Chinese dramas through small roles.
Park was later given the chance to begin an acting career in Korea, winning in the “Miss Korea” beauty pageant contest in 2000.
Since then, the actress has been slowly preparing herself for the right moment to take up acting, appearing on several TV commercials and music videos.
In the drama “My Girl,” Park will play Kim Se-hyeon, a beautiful and talented tennis player who has everything - except for love. Desperate to win the heart of the main character played by actor Lee Dong-wook, Se-hyeon turns vicious and cunning, making the heroine (Lee Da-hae)’s life miserable.
“I am concerned about the fact that I have started off with a big role. It would have been much more relieving if I had started off with a smaller role and gradually built up my acting skills,” said Park. “Because Se-hyeon will play an important part in complicating the romance between the hero and the heroine, I have a bigger burden on my shoulders.”
Park added that she was all bruises and scars from practicing tennis. Since Se-hyeon is supposed to be a world-renowned tennis player, Park felt that she couldn’t fool the viewers unless she played really well.
In the synopsis of the drama, Se-hyeon was described as Korea’s Maria Sharapova and Paris Hilton. From that description, Park set up an image of the character inside her head, which she revives during the drama shootings.
Park has been analyzing the character day and night - so thoroughly that she is now having dreams about her.
“Because I am neither a glamorous nor an ambitious person, I have a hard time sympathizing with Se-hyeon,” said Park. “But I can see that the woman is in fact a very insecure person when it comes to love. I have been trying my best to understand her with this empathy.”
Park said that she would be very happy if people cursed and labeled her an “evil woman” after the drama was aired.
“Since Se-hyeon will do her best to torment the heroine, people hating me would mean that my acting is good, right?” she asked with a smile. “I don’t expect things to turn out great from the beginning. I am prepared for criticisms of my acting, which will only make me strive harder for improvement.”
In the final episode, PD Jun Gi Sang (전기상) invites Jae Hee and Han Chae Young, the leads of “Sassy Girl Choon Hyang”, to appear as guest stars (cameo).

In the middle of this drifting season
I suddenly feel the length of the days
In the midst of these quickly-passing days
You and I dream away
With my feelings on the March wind
The cherry blossom buds continue on into spring
One by one warm the morning
Beside you, I’m a little embarrassed
After a huge yawn
I’m standing at the door to a new world
What I’ve realized is that I’m not alone
If I close my eyes
You’re behind my eyelids
How strong has that made me?
I hope I’m the same for you
The dusty whirlwind
Tangled up the laundry, but
The white moon in the morning sky
Was so beautiful, I couldn’t look away
There are things that don’t go the way I planned
But if I look up to the sky, even they seem small
The blue sky is cold and clear
The fluffy clouds float by quietlyI
f I can share with you the joy
Of waiting for the flowers to bloom,
I’ll be happy
From now on,
I want you to be quietly smiling beside me
If I close my eyes
You’re behind my eyelids
How strong has that made me?
I hope I’m the same for you

aya’s+haruto OST l Remioromen l Powdered Snow[English Version]
The season in which the powdered snow dances always passes by
Even if I’m lost in a crowd I can see the same sky
Even though I’m chilled as if I’m being blown by the wind
I don’t know anything(1) about you, do I?
And yet, I found you amongst a billion(2) people
There’s no (scientific) basis for this, but I believe this with all seriousness
We can’t live at the same time without trivial fights
If I can’t be honest, then rapture and sorrow are meaningless
Powdered snow, if you paled me white to the heart
Can you share our loneliness?
I pressed my ear against your heart
Going gently, deeply towards where the sound (is coming from)
(That’s where) I want to disembark,
There, we’ll meet once again
I want us to reach rapport but I was the (only) one who touched its surface
The only thing that was holding us together was my hand squeezing yours that was numb with cold
Powdered snow, in front (of us), eternity, too fragilely, becomes a stain upon rough asphalt
Powdered snow, this heart that has transcended time is faltering
And yet, I want to continue to protect you
Powdered snow, if you paled me white to the heart
You would wrap around our loneliness and send it back into the sky
(1) lit. Everything.
(2) lit. A hundred million. Japanese number splitting are different in that it goes from a thousand (sen) to ten thousand (man) to a hundred million (oku) instead of the thousand, million and billion we’re used to. I just made this a billion to parallel what I call a “numberless number” i.e. one of those numbers that doesn’t have other number names in it like a hundred, thousand, etc.

Emperor of the sea
-SYNOPSIS-
The “Emperor of the Sea” is an epic television series in every sense of the word. Besides totaling 50 episodes, the series possesses a budget of 15 billion won, and features many stunning sets and locations. The battle sequences are given epic scope, and computer graphics are used to enhance their scale. But the ultimate focus of “Emperor of the Sea” is on a single man, Jang Bo Go, and the realization of his destiny: to control the East Asian Sea!
Based on the life of a true historical figure, “Emperor of the Sea” is an epic Korean Drama based on a novel by author Choi In Ho. Choi Su Jong stars as Jang Bo Go, who rises from a lowly slave to the military commander of the sea during the Unified Shilla Dynasty (676~935). Along the way, he battles pirates, and engages in a heated rivalry with Madam Jami (Chae Si Ra), a Shilla noble who squares off against Jang Bo Go for trade rights in the South Sea. Song Il Gook (winner of the 2002 KBS New Actor award) is Yeomjang, Jang Bo Go’s charismatic comrade, who supports Jang in his ascension to The Emperor of the Sea. But Yeomjang competes with Jang for the love of Jeong-hwa (Soo-ae)…
Tired of trendy and superficial dramas that are rampant these days, viewers highly credited this epic drama with its intense and profound storyline. The breathtaking action scenes of climbing rugged precipices and being buried alive seem to be holding viewers in thrall, especially since the news that Choi Su Jong got injured on Dec. 23 while shooting another action scene was reported.
With his superb acting, Choi Su Jong dispelled fears that he is not the right actor to play Jang Bo Go. The fans of this drama have even made up a nickname for Choi, who plays a gladiator, dubbing him Gladi Choi.
Hana Yori Dango Live Action
-SYNOPSIS-
Tsukushi is a girl from a lower-middle class family who goes to a snooty expensive high school where everyone else comes from rich families - and I mean unrealistically and ridiculously manga-style rich. They all get dropped off by their chauffeurs in expensive cars every morning, bringing lunch boxes filled with caviar. This school is ruled by four boys who call themselves the “Flower 4″ or “F4″ for short. They are among the richest of the students and their parents make generous grants to the school, thus they are allowed to do whatever they want and not even the teachers are allowed to stop them. They are Doumyouji Tsukasa (Matsumoto Jun), Hanazawa Rui (Oguri Shun), Nishikado Soujirou (Matsuda Shouta), and Mimasaka Akira (Abe Tsuyoshi). Tsukasa and Rui are played by current popular male idols while the other two are played by newcomers. Anyway, if you like cute boys you should like this cast.
Whenever anyone at the school does something that the F4 doesn’t like, they get an “F4″ flag in their locker and they are ostracized and bullied by the F4 and the whole school until they leave. Tsukasa is the ring leader and the meanest of the bunch.
Tsukushi hates the whole school and doesn’t actively go along with the F4 or any of the school’s other strange traditions. However, she doesn’t openly oppose them either as she doesn’t want to make any enemies there. Her family is very proud of the fact that she was able to enter such a prestigious school, and she doesn’t want to disappoint them, so she is doing her best to survive her three years there.
She manages to get through her first two years and most of her last year without encountering any major problems, but when her new friend, Sakurako gets on F4’s bad side, she decides to defend Sakurako. By openly opposing the F4, they forget all about her friend and give Tsukushi the F4 flag the next day. Tsukushi is at the top of F4’s blacklist now. The school’s hate for her is compounded and amplified by her family’s lower class status.
Instead of giving in and leaving the school as everyone in the past has, Tsukushi decides to fight against the F4. In the first episode, she even punches Tsukasa. The repercussions that Tsukushi will face for opposing the F4 and damaging Tsukasa’s pride are unimaginable. (The ending will probably say differently, but I’ve already learned from this drama that you should never f#ck with rich people.) Lucky for her, another equally powerful F4 member, Rui has taken a liking to her, so she won’t be alone in her fight.
Apparently, she will end up in the middle of several love triangles, hexagons, etc. involving the F4 boys; but since they are bigger actors and appear to be much bigger characters, most of the attention will be from Tsukasa and Rui.
I’m sorry I love you

Spring Waltz
-SYNOPSIS-
It is not too much to say that 2005 was the year of Daniel Henney. The model-turned-actor gained the status of a national heartthrob by playing angel-hearted doctor Henry Kim in last year’s mega-hit television soap opera “My Lovely Sam-soon.” While it was only his debut drama, he quickly became one of the most wanted commercial models, with his image leading to a rise of metrosexuality.
This year, the Korean-American actor is to be back on TV, with a new role in the upcoming KBS drama “Spring Waltz.” The drama will be produced by the renowned producer Yoon Suk-ho, a conclusive work to his previous successes of “Autumn in My Heart,” “Winter Sonata” and “Summer Scent.” The combination of Producer Yoon’s success as a leading Hallyu or Korean Wave producer and Henney’s appeal abroad brought foreign media, including from the Philippines and Indonesia, to a press conference of the actors and producer of “Spring Waltz,” following the preview of the drama at Yongsan CGV in Seoul.
“Spring Waltz” is a love story of two young sweethearts who meet again after losing touch for 15 years, which is set against the backdrop of Austria’s continental beauty and spring in Korea’s South Cholla Province. Similar to Yoon’s previous works, “Spring Waltz” also focuses on a fateful love based on childhood memory. Even before being shown in Korea, it has added new momentum to the Korean Wave hallyu, by signing contracts for broadcast rights with nine countries including Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Macao, Brunei and the Philippines.
This time Henney plays Philip, a global manager of successful pianist Jae-ha. The character is a mixed son of an Austrian father and a Korean mother who has an urbane appearance, manner and love of music. Along with Henney, actor Seo Do-young and actresses Han Hyo-joo and Lee So-yeon, who are relatively new faces in the entertainment circle, will star in Yoon’s latest drama.
Philip in a new drama is different from Henry Kim in ‘My Lovely Sam-soon.’ Philip is more of a playboy, active and popular, whereas Henry Kim was shy and extremely pure,” said Henney. As if absorbed into the character, a dandy aura seems to have replaced his previous shyness when he was playing Henry Kim.
According to the drama’s producer Yoon, initially Philip’s character did not exist. However, after seeing Henney in audition, Yoon became attracted to the actor’s unique facial expressions, exotic image and gestures that are rarely seen in Korean actors. So the producer decided to create a new role just for him.
“I really enjoy working with the producer. He pays extreme attention to every detail. Every time he discovers a specific color or shape, he would stop and shoot. I feel a great pressure to satisfy him,” said the 26-year-old Henney.
Like Henry Kim in the former drama, in “Spring Waltz,” his character again becomes involved in a difficult love triangle between his best friend Jae-ha over Eun-young. “If I were in such a situation, it always depends on the level of love involved in the relationship. Love is a very powerful thing and I think it is always right to pursue what I feel,” said Henney.
He also expressed his anxiety over the drama as he believes it will determine whether people consider him a serious actor or not.
“While Henry Kim appears to be without a childhood, Philip experiences difficulty with his parents from a young age and grows up scarred. Because he is a character with a past, delicate acting skills to express his internal feelings are importantly required,” he said.
As Korean is not a native language for Henney, Korean lines in the drama are the biggest challenge for him in making his acting natural. Most of his lines in the drama are either English or Austrian, reflecting the mixed-race and international background of Philip’s character
Super rookie
-SYNOPSIS-
We are hooked on yet another Korean drama, called Super Rookie. It’s a corporate dramedy, a genre that doesn’t really exist in the U.S. but seems to be popular in Korea. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an American TV show that was really about work. Of course American shows are set in workplaces (usually hospitals or police stations or law offices) but they usually focus more on relationships or “issues” than on the work itself. What I like about Super Rookie is that while there is a romantic subplot, the main focus of the show is on corporate corruption, ass-kissing, and office politics. Oh, and the show is hilarious too.
Of course, Korean shows, while different from American ones, are just as formulaic. Here are some common elements I’ve noticed in Korean workplace dramas:
1. There is usually a love triangle between three co-workers, typically an ex-boyfriend/ girlfriend, then another outsider who is interested in dating one of them.
2. At some point after a breakup, the jilted lover threatens to throw himself (or herself) in the Han River.
3. Often the reason for the breakup is that the lovers are from different social classes.
4. Usually the hero of the story is a lovable buffoon who doesn’t fit in the upper-middle-class corporate world.
5. At some point, a parent always hits an adult child about the head and shoulders. (This happens on every single Korean show, to the point that it’s become sort of running joke between A and me.)
One of the first Korean words I learned was chon-nom . It translates “hick” or “country bumpkin”. But it also sort of means working class or uncouth. It’s an insult, but on Korean shows the hero is often a chon-nom . Invariably there is a scene with the chon-nom eating ramen noodles from the lid of a pot.
Another thing I’ve noticed about Korean shows is that references to English or travels abroad are a mark of higher social status. In Super Rookie , the main character doesn’t speak English very well, so I was shocked to learn that the actor is actually Korean-American . He certainly does a good job of faking bad English on the show!
What Happened in Bali
-SYNOPSIS-
Lee Soo-jung is an orphan who works as a tour guide in Bali. She has a useless brother that constantly gets into trouble and needs her to bail him out all the time. She struggles to make ends meet and aspires to be rescued out of her current predicament by a rich & wealthy man.
Jung Jae-min is the youngest son of the wealthy Chairman of the Pax Group. He is uninterested in business, irresponsible, arrogant, childish, self-centered and a playboy. Jae-min is constantly put down by his elder brother and beaten up by his father, but he is immune to all these treatments. He is engaged to Choi Young-joo, who comes from a comparable wealthy and powerful family. Both Jae-min and Young-joo are not in love with each other and he continues to sleep around. Jae-min is of the opinion that even with marriage, it should not affect how both of them are to lead their lives.
Young-joo in turn is still in love with her ex-boyfriend Kang In-wook whom she left so that she can be engaged to Jae-min (as per arranged by both parents). Kang In-wook comes from a broken family, his parents are divorced and his mother opens a small restaurant. He is a capable person at work but he has a cold exterior and it is difficult to read his mind.
Young-joo visits In-wook who is working in Indonesia, and asks him to spend some time with her where no one knows them. They take off to Bali only to be greeted by Jae-min at the airport who had tracked Young-joo down from Seoul. Young-joo claims that In-wook is an ex-classmate whom she met on the place. Jae-min invites In-wook to join him and Young-joo on the Bali trip. Soo-jung is the tour guide hired by Jae-min for the city tour. The tour was tense for Jae-min, In-wook and Young-joo. Soo-jung tries to figure out how the 3 are connected, and suspects In-wook to be the rich and wealthy one amongst them.
Jae-min find out that In-wook is working for his family’s factory in Indonesia, and his relationship with Young-joo. At the end of the tour, Jae-min gets drunk and unruly, and starts to throw insults at Young-joo and In-wook. A disgusted Young-joo leaves the drunk Jae-min behind and heads home for Seoul. Soo-jung takes Jae-min back to his room and realise that Jae-min is the rich one amongst the 3. In his half-drunken state, Jae-min asks Soo-jung to spend the night with him. Although Soo-jung calls Jae-min a bastard, she agreed to stay and told him to pay whatever he deems fit. However, Jae-min throws money at Soo-jung and tells her to leave.
In-wook returns to his room in Bali half drunk as well. He is hurt by the day’s event. He hears someone crying in the next room, and see Soo-jung sobbing over the humiliating incident she had just encountered with Jae-min. She is also lamenting about her unfortunate and unlucky life. He overhears her phone conversation with her brother and learns a little about Soo-jung’s pathetic situation.
In-wook returns to Jakarta and is told that he is to be transferred back to the head office in Seoul. Soo-jung also sets forth to return to Seoul to track down her colleague, Jo who had ran away with her money. They meet on the plane on the way back. Jae-min’s scheming brother places In-wook under Jae-min. Jae-min’s brother lures In-wook to his camp to devise a financing plan to pump money from his father for an external investment.
Soo-jung puts up at her friend Mi-ya’s place. She decides to try her luck with Jae-min for a job. However, he has forgotten about her and chases her out of her office. Soo-jung’s brother gets into trouble and “sells” Soo-jung to his debtors. Soo-jung ends up working in a nightclub as a human signboard touting business for the nightclub.
In-wook moves into the apartment next to Mi-ya. Soo-jung and In-wook reunites outside the nightclub when Mi-ya invites In-wook to the club. Somehow, Jae-min also tracked In-wook to the same nightclub that faithful night and their meeting turned into an ugly brawl with the club’s gangsters. Soo-jung knocked the leader of the gang out while trying to save the 2 guys. They ran away and manage to escape the gangsters. Jae-min buys Soo-jung an expensive coat to thank her for her help and leaves. But because Soo-jung offended the gangsters during the fight she was taken back to the nightclub and forced to be a bar hostess.
Jae-min checks up on Soo-jung’s background and learns that she has been relegated to a bar hostess. He brings his friends to the nightclub and asks for Soo-jung. He wanted to take her out for the night but Soo-jung refuses and tells him to take the other girls instead. Jae-min leaves her his name card and tells her to call him if she changes her mind.
After her second humiliating meeting with Jae-min, Soo-jung meets In-wook on the way home. She takes him out for a drink. And over the conversation, she sobs to In-wook about her situation and tells him of her aspiration to marry a rich man to end her misery.
Unable to bear with working as a bar hostess, Soo-jung eventually looks Jae-min up and borrowed KRM 30 mio to pay off her brother’s debts. She offered to sleep with Jae-min as a last resort but Jae-min told her that he is not interested in her. He lends her the money anyway and Soo-jung promises to find a job and pay him back. Jae-min tells Soo-jung to look him up if she fails to find anything. Soo-jung pays off her debts and parted ways with her brother. She told her brother not to look her up unless he finds Jo and get her money back. She resisted asking for a job from Jae-min and vows to find a job on her own. However, Soo-jung is unsuccessful in her job search, and ends up working in a karaoke bar.
Jae-min gets restless when he did not hear from Soo-jung after giving her the money and he decides to look her up at Mi-ya’s apartment. He finds Soo-jung in In-wook’s apartment where they were sharing a drink and chatting. Jae-min chides Soo-jung as irresponsible and asks why did she not call to let him know that she’s got the money. He tells her to report to work the next day at his office.
Meanwhile Young-joo continues to stalk In-wook at his apartment seeking reconciliation. She tries to call off the engagement, where Jae-min happily agrees. Young-joo is puzzled at Jae-min’s willingness to call it off, and starts to feel unwanted. However, In-wook is not willing to take Young-joo back as he feels that she does not love him but rather wants to possess him out of her own selfish reasons. In-wook also starts to work with Jae-min’s brother closely on the investment plan. Jae-min’s brother in turns introduces In-wook to participate at the senior board meetings.
Jae-min and Young-joo’s engagement was not called off because Jae-min’s mother blackmailed Young-joo with intimate photographs taken of Young-joo and In-wook. Young-joo is resigned to her predicament and plays along with the arrangement of both parents on the engagement.
Soo-jung starts work at Jae-min’s company as a receptionist, but feel asleep in the office on her first day of work. She leaves the office late and runs into Jae-min who was hiding in the nearby meeting room from his tyrant father (aka the Chairman). Jae-min takes Soo-jung for a fancy dinner to celebrate her first day at work, but Jae-min’s good mood was ruined when Soo-jung mentions In-wook during dinner. She feels that it is through divine intervention and fate that she keeps meeting In-wook e.g. he was her neighbour in the hotel in Bali, they sat next to each other on the plane to Seoul, and now he is her neighbour and colleague. Jae-min is unhappy to hear about Soo-jung and In-wooks’s encounters and promptly leaves the restaurant. He tells Soo-jung to go home on her own and she is puzzled by Jae-min’s response.
In-wook also starts to ask Soo-jung out, he brings her home to see his mother and they even spent a happy afternoon at the movies. Jae-min works late in the office and is locked out in the building. Coincidentally, Soo-jung is also stuck in the building. She fell asleep in his office and when she left in the morning, Jae-min asks her whether meeting him is also a kind of destiny for Soo-jung as well. In-wook sees Soo-jung leaving Jae-min’s office.
In-wook returns home to see Young-joo waiting for him. She asks In-wook to be her lover. In-wook takes Young-joo into his apartment and starts to take off his clothes. Young-joo asks In-wook what he is doing, and he retorts: “Isn’t this what you want?” He leaves the apartment in a fury. Young-joo leaves as well. In-wook’s mother visits In-wook and finds the apartment empty. She leaves food with Soo-jung and Mi-ya for In-wook. Soo-jung could not sleep and decides to take the food over to In-wook’s apartment. In-wook return to his apartment and finds Soo-jung there. He confesses to Soo-jung that he likes her and gave her a kiss. Soo-jung lays on In-wook’s bed, and he bends over to kiss her. But all is interrupted when they hear Jae-min knocking at Mi-ya’s door asking for Soo-jung.
Soo-jung jumps at hearing Jae-min’s voice. As they stay silent in the dark apartment waiting for Jae-min to leave, both felt awkward at what had happened. The next morning, In-wook apologises to Soo-jung for his actions and suggested that perhaps he had too much to drink.
Young-joo finds out about Jae-min’s affliation with Soo-jung. She goes to Jae-min’s office to warn Soo-jung to stay away from Jae-min and tells Soo-jung that she is out of his league. But Jae-min had already asked Soo-jung to go to his apartment so as to tell her the whereabouts of Jo. Unfortunately, Jae-min’s mother and Young-joo were at Jae-min’s apartment and saw Soo-jung there. Jae-min’s mother is furious and slaps Soo-jung and calls her a cheap trash. Jae-min pushes his mother down in the tussle and runs off with Soo-jung.
Because of this incident, Soo-jung is fired from her job and is once more jobless. To make ends meet, she goes back to the karaoke again with Mi-ya. Young-joo finds Soo-jung, and offers her a job at Jae-min’s mother’s gallery. Soo-jung decides to take up the offer. Jae-min is upset with what Young-joo had done to humiliate the woman he loves. He tells Soo-jung to quit the job and told Young-joo that he is determined not to marry her. Young-joo in turn tells Jae-min that she is beginning to like Jae-min and will not call off the engagement. She dares Jae-min to call it off if he has the guts to go against his parents. Young-joo decides to stay over at Jae-min’s apartment, but Jae-min leaves the apartment in disgust. He gets drunk and calls Mi-ya’s mobile for Soo-jung in his drunken state.
In-wook and Soo-jung finds a drunk Jae-min outside the apartment. In-wook takes Jae-min in for the night. Jae-min wakes up and looks for Soo-jung at Mi-ya’s apartment. He takes Soo-jung out and buys her a mobile phone. Jae-min calls Soo-jung on the mobile and asked to meet her.
Young-joo is caught drinking by herself at a hotel bar by Jae-min’s friends. She calls In-wook over. As Young-joo is too drunk, In-wook checks her into the hotel. They met Jae-min at the lobby (he was tipped off by his friends), and Soo-jung walks into the lobby (she was tipped off by Jae-min). In-wook takes Young-joo up to the room, and Jae-min also leads Soo-jung to another room. He wants her spend the night with him, and told Soo-jung that it is an opportunity for Soo-jung to try and replace Young-joo. She takes up the offer, and as she undresses Jae-min asks Soo-jung whether she can at least pretend to like him, and whether she agrees to spend the night with him to spite In-wook. Soo-jung asks Jae-min why did he let her see In-wook with Young-joo is it for revenge as well. She leaves the room and at the corridors bumps into In-wook.
Young-joo went to Jae-min’s apartment. She asks Jae-min whether he is jealous with what he saw, and ask him not to make use of Soo-jung. Jae-min tells Young-joo that he likes Soo-jung the same way she likes In-wook. Young-joo is shaken with Jae-min’s confession.
In-wook asks Soo-jung to leave Young-joo’s employment and Soo-jung asks In-wook whether he is ashamed about her job. She tells In-wook that she is used such treatment and it is ok to be working in such a cushy environment even though it is under such humiliating circumstance.
In-wook is promoted and he calls Soo-jung to have dinner with him. Soo-jung agrees but her conversation is overheard by Young-joo. Young-joo throws Soo-jung’s phone in the water. Jae-min looks for Soo-jung in the gallery but was caught by his mother. As he tries to pacify his mother, Jae-min admits that he finds himself going insane when he does not get see Soo-jung even for a day. Soo-jung is shocked by Jae-min’s admission of his affections for her. Jae-min sends Soo-jung home and asks Soo-jung to stay by his side.
In-wook calls Jae-min and asks him whether he is with Soo-jung. Jae-min passes the phone to Soo-jung and In-wook is upset that she stood him up for dinner.
Jae-min takes Soo-jung to an apartment and told her that she can stay there while she makes up her mind about his proposition. Soo-jung decides to accept Jae-min’s offer and moves out of Mi-ya’s apartment. She asks Jae-min what are his conditions. Jae-min agrees to give her anything she wants but marriage.
However, their cohabiting relationship was cut short when Young-joo’s mother finds out about Soo-jung. She bashes Soo-jung at the gallery. Soo-jung leaves the apartment after a row with Jae-min and returns to Mi-ya’s apartment. Soo-jung falls ill and In-wook takes care of her. Jae-min turns up to apologise but end up in a fight with In-wook. Jae-min warns In-wook to stay away from Soo-jung as she is his woman.
Soo-jung quits her job at the gallery, and is insulted by Young-joo. Soo-jung returns to the apartment and dresses up. She asks Jae-min out for a romantic dinner. After their wine and dine, both a little high from wine returns to the apartment that Jae-min arranged for Soo-jung. Soo-jung decides to leave and Jae-min begs her to stay. Soo-jung sobs and apologise to Jae-min about her greed. Jae-min kisses her and they ended up in bed. A heartbroken In-wook moves.
Jae-min’s father finds out about Soo-jung and beats Jae-min to a pulp, threatening to harm Soo-jung as well if he does not go ahead with the wedding plans with Young-joo. Petrified by his father’s warnings, Jae-min stays away from Soo-jung. Soo-jung finds out about Jae-min’s wedding on the paper. She calls him to ask him out but Jae-min (while breaking down on the other side of the phone) refuses, remembering his father’s threats.
In-wook is double-crossed by Jae-min’s brother, as he is being taken away from the investment project altogether. But he has already built his alliance with the investors and they refuse to continue the deal with any other project team leader, other than In-wook.
Both Jae-min and Young-joo are miserable after their wedding as Jae-min can’t stop thinking about Soo-jung, and Young-joo realise that she has married a walking corpse. Jae-min turns cold on her every time he sees her and he is constantly drunk to drown his thoughts of Soo-jung. Jae-min learns from Soo-jung’s brother that Soo-jung is seeing In-wook again, and that thought kills him through and through.
Jae-min finally announces his determination to have a divorce and abandon everything for Soo-jung. He asks Soo-jung to wait for him. Jae-min’s father sends some men to take Soo-jung to him but was intercepted by In-wook. Soo-Jung takes refuge at In-wook’s apartment. In-wook asks Soo-jung to leave Korea with him. Soo-jung accepts In-wook’s offer and they left for Bali to start a new life.
Jae-min’s brother finds out that In-wook has embezzled all the funds from the investment project, passes out and is hospitalised. Jae-min finds out that In-wook has eloped with Soo-jung and tracks them down to Bali.
In-wook lies in bed with Soo-jung. He tells Soo-jung that she is free to go anywhere as he can see the sadness in her eyes. Soo-jung cries and tells In-wook that she wanted so badly to give him her heart, but she can’t. Then Jae-min walks into their room, with a loaded gun. He shoots In-wook and Soo-jung. In-wook dies immediately and Soo-jung as she breathes her last, tells Jae-min that she loves him. Jae-min completely breaks down, walks to the beach and commits suicide with the same gun.

I say, Feel your breeze
Anytime Anywhere in my heart
Feel your breeze
Never stop walking now oh
The number of wounds that won’t vanish are increasing,
It’s like the wind is piercing me
Those little worries you keep to yourself
I’m sure everyone has some now …
Of course the night is long
And you sink down deeply
When the sun rises up in the morning
Yes, it’ll be gleaming
Someday the future you dreamed of
And now will be a little bit different
The tears shed for dreams
Keep shining without fading
Your heart will always watch you
With the feelings that tear your heart apart
Feel all of your dreams eternally
Overflowing like those summer clouds
I say, feel your breeze,
Anytime Anywhere in my heart
Feel your breeze
never stop walking now oh~
I believe we all have these anxieties
that I carry now.
Adding to my collection of indelible emotional scars,
it feels like the wind nips at them,
The more we are depressed
like the long nights,
The more we shine an glisten
like the rising morning sun.
One Day, I may realize that the future I dream of
is different from how it is now.
But the tears I have shed for my dreams, will glisten and be remembered.
My heart will always be with you,
because I engraved those emotions in my heart.
Let me keep dreaming eternally, as the summer clouds overflow the sky.
